I got a phone call from Besty early this morning. I’ll not chronicle the details, instead I’ll let the title of this post speak for itself and leave up to you all to fill in the blanks.
In other news Betsy had a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) installed yesterday. This will be used to administer medication and could also be used in administering Chemotherapy a little later on.
Now that the gas is on Betsy has been moved from a diet of just ice chips to one that includes clear fluids.
Depending how this goes her diet will gradually change to soft foods then solids.
This could take a couple of days.
I hope that once we get to that point Betsy will be discharged to continue her convalescence at home.
Though Betsy has a PICC in place she isn't hooked up to any intravenous fluids. Her morphine pump is gone and her pain is now being held in check with Percocet, which unfortunately makes her nauseous. How sucky is that? Just when she is able to start on the road to eating she taking pain medication that makes her wanna puke.
Please keep the prayers and comments coming.

So happy to hear things are moving!
This also means an increase in diet! I know that will also make you feel better. I hope you will be able to go home soon.
Love,
Inez
Well thank God! Now you can start dreaming of that juicy steak or better yet watch the food network. Emeril seems to be on every tv of those patients that aren't allowed to have solid food.
I'm glad you got a PICC, now you save getting stuck every three days. Keep up the good work, thinking of you. xoxo Jenn
Hi Betsy,
Glad to hear that "things are moving" and that you will be home soon ! It is always more comfy to rest and recoup at home. We are keeping you in our prayers and are praying that you will regain your strength and feel better soon !
Love, Linda
Well - I have to assume that the mere mention of Guiness in conjunction with Daily Prayer, was the magical combination. I was so convinced that just the mention of Guiness would do the trick, that I had an audio recorder running day and night.... somehow, however, I missed the "sonic boom"... I'll have to listen to it again. Thinking of you and still praying real hard.... Jim & Sharon
Betsy, I can not figure this out..I sent a posting but do not see it...so here goes...I wish I was there to be with you for a few hours every day...So glad the gas issue is over ...I was going to lend you some that I keep in reserve with the high fiber Weight Watchers diet...it is very expensive you know....Keep the fight going and hope to visit when you are up to it...Love Retta and Bob

Hi Betsy
We at Troop 769 are keeping you in our prayers. I am so glad that you are up and around. I know how I felt after the first 5 days at Philmont without a shower and was so glad to have one.
