One of Betsy’s colleagues, Becky, was at AAMC when I s stopped in earlier today. She, like many of you, thaked me for doing this blog. So to Becky, and everyone else, I’m delighted that Betsy has such a following. Please know that when there is information to report, I will.
Here’s something that we all may wish to consider, Betsy has Type II diabetes which she’s held in check with diet and exercise. I screwed up the other day by bringing her these awesome chocolate chip cookies provided by our neighbor, Kathleen. They did not go to waist (get it) at least not Besty’s ‘cause she made it quite clear that all the great sweets were verboten.
The second part of Betsy’s chemo, Cisplatin, kicked in today. So far no ill effects.
One of Betsy’s sisters, Margaret, is here (from
Regardless, this evening while Betsy hydrates on her chemo cocktails I have license to hydrate with Gin and Tonic….and I am.
Kevin baited the crab pots which a couple of nasty chicken necks (and his cell phone --- that’s a whole other story) and with luck we may even steam some crustaceans before the weekend is up.
Stay tuned and please keep up the prayers.

Well Tom, you just had to pick the first HOT weekend to do Shore chores, eh? But you love the sun.
I can also confirm by personal experience how wonderful the care is AAMC. Judy came home from gall bladder surgery earlier this week. The medical and personal care she received was wonderful!
I stood in for you at the RISS meeting on Tuesday. They said I wasn't as good or as "loud" as you but I managed to hold my own.
Angelo sends his prayers and regards for all of you. Barry was there too. Those RISS quarters provided by the taxpayer are pretty nice digs.
Cheers and shalom!
Hi Betsy! Just wanted to let you know you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers....Pete leaves for Western Africa on active duty tomorrow...he will be gone for 4 months....so maybe if all goes well I will stop by and visit if you are still enjoying the hospitality of AAMC...and it will be on my day off so no trouble there....I am glad chemo is going well...it is certainly a step in the right direction....you are doing a great job and you are my hero....:) talk to you soon I hope! Mari
Tom and Betsy,
I'm so happy you are finally receiving the chemo and that you are still in the hospital to help with the healing process. I agree with you Betsy, I wouldn't go home until you are ready.
Jeff and I went to our place in Deep Creek this weekend, so we are sorry we missed the "hot as He.." grass cutting party!!
One of my very favorite poems.....
Footprints
The Lord replied, "The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand, is when I carried you."
God Bless!
