My dear friends,
Betsy passed away last light around 9:20 PM. As many of you had already surmised from the previous posting it was apparent that Betsy's body was wasn't able to keep up the fight. I can tell you her spirit never wavered.
I got her to Mercy Hospital yesterday morning. Her blood work showed that her kidney's had failed and her system was shutting down and it was just a matter time.
We gathered with Betsy, letting her know that it was ok to go. We cried, we prayed, we laughed.
There were times when Besty smiled the most beautiful sweet smile any of us had ever seen. I will always keep that smile in my heart.
The Mercy staff cared for Betsy and all of us in the most compassionate way and her transition from this life to the next was a very comfortable one for us all.
By the time I got home last night our outdoor Christmas lights had turned off. I turned them back on to honor my Betsy, my light in the darkness .

Betsy was a true inspiration for us in the way she lived her life, with grace and so much love for all. Her light will never dim in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you- Tom, Andrew, and Kevin, the three men she loved the most.
Peace and Love to you.

Tom, Praying that God will fill any void you will have with the loss of Betsy. She will always be a light for the lives she touched. I know she touched mine. Love to Andrew and Kevin as well.
Tom,
I am so sorry for all of you.

Eternal rest grant unto Betsy O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon her. May all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
God our Father,
Your power brings us to birth,
Your providence guides our lives,
and by Your command we return to dust.
Dear Lord, comfort Tom, Andrew, Kevin, family, and friends in their grief.
Shalom,
Chris P.
I am so sorry that I never got to meet Betsy in person in this life, although I am sure I will meet up with her in the next and we will compare notes about you, TR! Meantime, please know that my family and I will continue to keep you and your sons in our prayers...Betsy no longer needs them, as she is now happily living in the Kingdom of God. But, I'm sure she is looking over all of you. What a wonderful send-off you were able to give her - tears, love and laughter, isn't that what life=-==and death---- is all about? How devastating this is now...but this pain, too, shall pass. Love, Linda
Dear Tom and boys,
My prayers continue for all of you. My greatest gift this year was to reconnect with Betsy, Candace and Witz. That visit will last me a lifetime. Thank you for sharing her with us that weekend.
She will still live in your hearts,
In the happiness you knew, in the dreams you shared.
Prayers to you and your family.
From what I've heard and read on this blog, I can tell that Betsy was a beautiful woman with a fighting spirit. She and her family are in my prayers. She truly was a light in the darkness. She managed to keep a smile on her face even in her final hours here. I know that she is with God in His Heavenly House. She will watch over you and she will be with you wherever you go. Her spirit lives on through her family and friends. Just remember, it is not "goodbye." It's "see you later." We will all see Betsy once again when we enter God's Kingdom. May God bless you during this truly difficult time.
Revelation 21:4
"And He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away."
Tom, I felt like I met Betsy just by reading your blog. How lucky she was to have you at her side. Take care of yourself and your family.
Tom,
We, too, are in prayer and thought for you and your sons. May God help guide you through this time. Randy & Nancy
Tom, Drew and Kevin,
I worked with Betsy 11 years ago at West Meade Elementary. She was the RN there and I was the School Counselor. She and I enjoyed alot of laughs together and even did a few home visits together. Our paths crossed again a few years ago when she was supervising the RN at the school where I work now. I am so sorry to hear about Betsy. What a fine, fine woman she was. She will be missed. May her memory be eternal. Kim Baicar
Tom, my thoughts and prayer's are with you and family. Cherish the memories and good times. If there is anything I can do on my side don't hesitate to ring me anytime... Best Regards, Chris K.

I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.
