Wednesday July 30th, 2008 WOW!

Good morning all!
We have a new Eagle Scout in our house! Kevin had his board of review last night and was told he has achieved the Eagle rank. We are very proud of him. We will plan a ceremony for sometime in September and have our celebration then. In the meantime , Kevin just left this morning for a week with his aunt, uncle and cousins on Long Island. He is very excited about going and is planning a fun filled week.

I am feeling okay. I am between chemo treatments right now and I'm working everyday. I do get a little tired toward the end of the day but the distraction is good. I am maintaining my weight and my appetite is good. A follow-up CT scan is scheduled for today just to check on things after 3 treatments. I'll keep you posted.
Till next time :-) Bets

Hi Bets,
Kevin arrived safe and sound....he spent the day in the pool with Eric, Amy and the kiddies. Today he is looking forward to playing golf with Loretta and Bob...Jay loaned him his clubs.
The tentative plan is to spend the weekend up at the lake...Kevin has asked if he could make dinner some night..that will be a real treat!
Monday we are going to visit Frank at the sub-acute. He is scheduled to go home on Tues., but I'm sure that will be a very hectic day for Fluff, so I figured the day before would be better.
Hope you get good news from the CAT Scan...keep me posted....love you, Teen

Hi Betsy,

So great to hear you are back at work and we are thrilled to hear of Kevin's achievement as an Eagle Scout. What an honor for him, knowing how much Ed values his own quite highly.

I hope you are feeling well and getting back to a normal life. I know that normal is all a relative term.

I am flying to Baltimore on Sept 26, and will call ahead of time to plan a visit with you. Take good care of yourself, I know Tom and the boys are taking great care of you.

Love, Patrice, Ed and Family

Finally figured out that I did not need the @ before blogspot.com. I have been trying to get on this blog, ever since you sent me the email that you have been sick. You have been in our prayer and thoughts, ever since!

Just like your eagle must now be soaring, so you should be, too, Betsy, with your gradual return to a somewhat routine!

Eagle moms are the best!

Best wishes to you!

Betsy and Tom:

Just heard of the journey that you have been through in the past couple of months. Just like the trek in Philmont... One step at a time.

The strength and love that you have within and with each other, combined with the support and love from your family and friends, you just have to beleive that this thing can be beaten.

You guys are in my thoughts and prayers everyday.

Love you guys... Mike
