Sunday July 6, 2008 No news is good news!

Hi all! I haven't written every day because there is really nothing new to report. I continue to get a little stronger each day. I still tire easily and need a nap, but I am doing more around the house (like laundry, and ironing). No heavy lifting yet. Teen won't let me! She has been awesome to have here. She keeps my spirits up and we have been having a great time.
On the fourth we watched the Orioles' game, and had pizza and beer. We did some grocery shopping and clothes shopping on Saturday. Today we went to church, and I guess because of the previous days' activities I napped on and off most of the day.

My hair continues to get thinner but I haven't resorted to the cranial prosthesis yet. I had it on for about 15 minutes one day, just to try it out, and it got pretty warm. I'll have to see how it goes when I need to cover my head for real.

Tom and Kevin called on Friday to say they were locking their cell phones away at the base camp as they started on their hike. They will be out of touch for 10 days while they hike 86 miles through the high desert in New Mexico. That wouldn't be my idea of fun! They were both very excited about it and I hope the weather is good for them.

All else is well. Andrew finished his math class last week. Now he is concentrating only on work. He will take a little vacation next week to visit some friends in Louisiana.

I love hearing from you and know that their are lots of prayers being said for me. I thank you all for them; know that you are all in my prayers to thank God for such wonderful support and friendship and love. To the folks who have brought dinner and bread and fruits, THANK YOU! Your visits have lifted my spirits too.

Till next time :-) Bets

Betsy, I am so glad to hear you are enjoying "girl time." I am with you, a hike in New Mexico is not my idea of fun. We got back on the 4th and have been resting ever since, but had to go to work on Monday. Let me know when I can be the chauffeur for you. Hope to get down to visit soon. CALL me if you need anything--I would love the excuse to take off.
Prayers are continuing.

Good Morning, girls. Amanda arrifed home early this a.m Called me about 2. Plans on sleepingblate today so I'll see her later. Can't wait to hear details of her trip.
I got a fairly good report yesterday ..one medication cut in half for a weeks trial. It was the one that causes lightheadedness and nausea. Also thought I should have reg Dr. order therapy for legs as they need strengthening ..but good, now.Psychologically I feel better. Dr. did not think I was a babbling old lady so that was nice, too.Seemed very pleased about the improvement ov the heart rare etc. Once again my prayers are being answered...now I must pay for patience, right?
I guess Teenie will be heading home today. Your next nurse will be there soon Then Tom and Kevin will be back. Time sure is passing quickly. Looks like the rain showers are over and nothing but sunny days ahead.
My love and prayers are with you always and everywhere. My best to Andrew also Glad he got his course out of the way and can enjoy his vacation soon. Keep the Blogs coming. I love hearing from you.

Betsy,
Glad to hear you are continuing to recover your strength! They say laughter is the best medicine and I KNOW Teen has had you in stitches while she's been there, she's the best one to make us all laugh!
We'll keep the prayers heading your way, I know you're returning them!
Our love to you, Tom and the boys,
Fluffy and Frank

Good Morning, Bets,
Guess you are flying solo this a.m. Glad Andrew is there to lend support.Marg. hopes to be there on Sun.around Noon..the last I heard. She'll let you know definite time etc. before then.
Visited one shut in elderly lady yesterday and plan to visit another today. We always seem to have a lot to discuss. I bring them books to read etc. It helps to pass the time for them. Both are in their upper 80's...one will be 90 in Aug. Neither one ever complains and I marvel at them .
So good to have Amanda here again. She is such a strong girl and I depend on her to keep me upright.I'm trying a new med. pattern now so hopefully I'll get a bit of relief soon.
Glad Marg. will be there with you on Wed. You'll be in my prayers especially then. I love you,Bets and send many prayers. Always , Mom..Please give Andrew a hug from me also...M.
